Following Governor Ricardo Rosselló’s latest announcement that he’s not running for re-election, Power 4 Puerto Rico issued the following statement:
Governor Ricardo Rosselló has made further mockery of the Puerto Rican people by refusing to leave office. Instead of stepping down as Puerto Ricans have clearly demanded, Rosselló opted to resign as head of his political party (Partido Nuevo Progresista) and also announced that he will not run for re-election.
As worldwide demonstrations calling for the governor to step down continue, the Legislature of Puerto Rico must now commence an impeachment process based on the ample evidence corroborated by many jurists of Rosselló breaking the law.
